Malick Meiga is heading south to Conway, South Carolina. The former Penn State football team captain committed to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Wednesday after entering the transfer portal in April.
A former Penn State receiver who entered the transfer portal last month has found a new school. After three seasons plus this year’s spring practices with the PSU roster, Malick Meiga has committed to Coastal Carolina, he announced via X (formerly Twitter) late Wednesday morning.
Former Penn State football wide receiver Malick Meiga has added a trio of offers since entering the transfer portal. After declaring his intentions to leave the Nittany Lions in mid-April, Meiga has announced offers from Coastal Carolina and Nevada in the FBS and Delaware at the FCS level.
Penn State is entering a significant 2024 season. The Big Ten is expanding, adding Oregon, USC, UCLA, and Washington, making the conference even more complicated. The Nittany Lions suffered a significant blow when one of their key wide receivers, KeAndre Lambert-Smith, decided to enter the spring portal earlier this week.
Two Penn State receivers have now entered the transfer portal in this spring window. Word got out Monday that KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who was the team’s leading receiver in 2023, was going to enter the portal.
The transfer portal officially opened on Tuesday, April 16th. The Penn State football team is preparing for roster changes just like every school in the country this time of year.

Moar Canadians! Malick Meiga joined Penn State as part of the 2020 recruiting class, a 3-star receiver out of Montreal, Québec, Canada. The 3-star prospect did not see any playing time in 2020, but began to chip in starting in 2021.
